NORTHEAST GEORGIA - [watch] Taking good care of your skin early on is critical in preventing the development of wrinkles. Dermatologist Rutledge Forney says no matter what your age, there are some simple steps you can take to help prevent the dreaded crinkling of the skin.

"The two most important things to do is never smoke and avoid the sun and tanning beds, both of those things set you up to have bad collagen and bad collagen is gonna wrinkle a lot faster than good collagen.

In your 30s, Forney suggests a mild exfoliator to remove dead skin cells, a retinol to clean out pores and a moisturizer with an SPF of 15-30.

"By the time you're in your 40s, people starting thinking about trying Retin-A, with encourage them to use antioxidants on their skin, and there are wound-healing factors these days, which really help to overcome some of the previous damage."
