OAKWOOD - {watch] Last season it was feast or famine for the Johnson Knights. In the team's three wins they scored an average of 33 points, but in their seven losses a year ago they were shutout three times.
Heading into the 2010 season, the Knights lose a couple of major sources of their offense from a year ago.
Quarterback Anthony Prophet gave the Knights a run and pass threat a year ago, but he has graduated. The Knights will also have to replace running back Mantaveious Rucker who has transferred. Rucker was second team All-Region a year ago.
The Knights along with the rest of the south sub-region in 8-AAA benefit from Flowery Branch's move up to class 4-a in the offseason.
Flowery Branch and Gainesville at the top didn't leave much hope for schools like Johnson.
But this season there is reason to hope. As long as the Knights can be in third place in the sub-region by the end of the year, they wil have a chance to play their way into the playoffs.
